Meet the Team

Helen Quirke

Partner and Centre Manager
Helen takes care of the management and running of the whole centre,  ensuring the smooth running of therapies, clinic and classes, organising and marketing events and courses.  Ensuring the website and social media are kept updated,  running the natural pharmacy and Orchard Barn own products range. With a background in Business and Finance, Helen spent 14 years working in Finance in the City of London gaining valuable knowledge of running small to medium sized companies. More recently she branched out into project management,  working for a variety of companies including a health and fitness celebrity. Her interests are horse riding, spending time with her family, friends and pets. Taking long walks on the beach and as a recently diagnosed Coeliac, discovering and cooking delicious gluten free foods.

Lindsay Adams

Senior Receptionist Administrator
Lindsay is a key member of the team taking care of our clients from the moment they walk into the centre until the moment they leave. She has an extensive knowledge of medical administration having worked in the NHS for many years and brings a valuable perspective on the day to day running of the centre. Her interests are health, keeping fit through exercise classes and running/walking. She loves spending her weekends with family and friends in between renovating her house.

Wendy Musson

Receptionist Administrator
We are delighted to welcome Wendy to our team, she has a joined us from St Hughs Hospital where she worked on the main reception and with outpatients, so has a wealth of experience of the Medical sector. She has a keen interest in Health and enjoys Bodypump, Pilates and Yoga at the local Humberstone Country Club where she is a member, her and her sons are also members of The Grimsby Harriers Athletics Club.  When she was younger she represented Humberside for athletics and was County Champion in both track and field events. In her spare time she enjoys walking her dog and spending time with her family.

Emily Collinson

Social Media and Marketing Assistant
Emily joined the team in November and she has taken over the role of supporting Helen with promoting of the centre via social media as well as working on reception and in the shop. Emily is currently studying A level's in English language, media print and photography and has a keen interests in health, makeup, fashion, movies and spending time with her family.

Dr Sally Moorcroft

Partner and Clinical Lead
Dr Sally Moorcroft is the clinical lead, she is a qualified doctor and medical herbalist who has additional training in homeopathy and medical acupuncture, nutrition, aromatherapy and Traditional Chinese Medicine. Dr Moorcroft has 20 years of medical experience beginning her career in the NHS before training in a range of Integrative Medicine specialities. Dr Moorcroft understands the complex nature of health and wellbeing and the importance of individual choice in maximising recovery and reaching potential. By bringing together highly professional and experienced therapists our aim for the centre is to provide the very best of orthodox and complementary medicine.

Alison Leighton

Nutritional Advisor and Colonic Hydrotherapist
Alison has always been interested in health and nutrition and she loves teaching people about food and how by making a few simple dietary changes it could provide optimum nutrition for themselves and their families.  She is a qualified nutritional adviser and is currently studying to become a nutritional therapist at the highly acclaimed Institute for Optimum Nutrition in London.  She is also a qualified colon hydrotherapist and a member of RICTAT, and has taken on addtional studies with ARCH here at Orchard Barn.

Sandra Bøjen-Taylor

Psychotherapist
Sandra Bøjen-Taylor is a psychotherapist who runs an established business in the area called Bcalm.   Sandra steps in to Orchard Barn to work with us offering workshops, support groups and courses alongside  our team of experts.     In 2002 Sandra completed accredited counselling and psychotherapy courses of the highest calibre over a 5 year period in order to start practicing in the field. Over 16 years she has worked therapeutically with young people and adults at the Youth Service, for the mental health charity Mind, Grimsby & Cleethorpes IAPT Service Open Minds and as student and staff counsellor at a busy FE & HE College in Scunthorpe. She is currently a group therapist for Breast Cancer Care UK working with women with secondary breast cancer from the Grimsby, Cleethorpes, Scunthorpe, Hull and Lincoln areas and with private 1-1 clients. She is also registered with Trauma Aid UK – as a volunteer to provide therapeutic support to victims of terror attacks, atrocities and natural disasters. In 2011 she invested further in her work and completed a Masters Degree in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy with Distinction. This equipped her with knowledge about current and cutting edge research in the field and enabled her to work with new concepts in her client work. She has a wealth of experience working with a diverse range of clients and issues. She has been a BACP Registered Counsellor since 2000. She practices Integrative Psychotherapy which means she is experienced in working with several approaches. She draws from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Person-Centred, Psychodynamic, Narrative, Transactional Analysis (TA), Gestalt and Mindfulness theories. She is also a fully qualified EMDR therapist – an amazing and innovative therapy (the most thoroughly researched method used in the treatment of trauma) which has successfully helped millions of people with a wide range of mental health problems as well as PTSD.

Tara Foulkes

Hynotherapist
Tara runs a Clinical Hypnotherapy business  in Lincolnshire called Alloquor.  Tara works with us at Orchard Barn delivering a series of workshops, courses and days covering a range of topics including hynobirthing.
 
Tara uses her skills to work with people to educate them on how to get the best out of their brain and how to use it effectively.  This is supported by hypnotherapy which retrains the subconscious mind to ensure the conscious and subconscious mind are working together effectively.  

Julie Reeve

Therapist
Julie started her working life after qualifying,as a nursery nurse and state enrolled nurse. She spent many years working as an early years practitioner which she loved. She has always had an interest in holistic therapy so she changed direction and qualified as a complimentary therapist practising swedish massage,indian head massage,reflexology and reiki. Julie's passion lies with reiki and she now has 20yrs experience in the field and dedicate her service to helping both human and four legged clients. She is a animal lover and owner and likes to spend her spare time split between her other passions which are her dog and two horses. Her mum,three children and four grandchildren.

Sally Marshall

Beautician and Dr Hauschka Esthetician
Sally has joined the team as an esthetician performing Organic Antipodes Facials, Manicures and Pedicures, Waxing and Tinting.  Sally qualified as a Dr Hauskha Esthetician and we delivers the full range of Dr Hauschka treatments.  She has over 20 years experience of working in beauty,  so you are in expert hands and each treatment has been carefully planned with Sally to ensure all products used throughout the treatment are as natural as possible. In Sally's spare time she enjoys spending time with her family and her animals including her horses.

Sophia Farren

Therapist
Sophia graduated 2 year’s ago having gained a Foundation Degree In Salon Management. She has 18 years experience within this industry, undertaking a variety of roles, including working in a Spa, to working as a complimentary therapist and more recently sharing her knowledge and experience working as a Trainer in further education. Spare time is spent with her husband, twin girls and dog.

Emma Bailey

Therapist & Shamanic Practitioner
Emma is a holistic and beauty therapist, her specific interests lie in Holistic therapies Reiki, Reflexology  and Shamanic Healing.  Emma is currently studying Bowen Therapy and will be offering this service from December.   Emma is also qualified to offer Pregnancy and Oncology Massage.   Emma enjoys working with our natural make up range offering make up lessons and occasion make up. In her spare time Emma enjoys spending time with her family, walking her dog and practicing Yoga.

Joanne Clark

Therapist
Joanne has spent the last two years at Grimsby Institute studying her level 2 and level 3 in beauty therapy.  She is adding to her training and has completed her Lava shell training at Orchard Barn.   Her main passions within beauty are the holistic therapies.  

Amy Bailey

Bridal Host
Amy works with us as a host for Bridal parties, she also runs her own wedding planning business independently. Amy will take care of you throughout your time at Orchard Barn ensuring that everything runs smoothly.   Amy has been involved within the wedding industry since 2004 when she trained with an incredible Wedding Planning company in London before going on to open her own company. She is also a trained tutor and university lecturer specialising within the events industry.  She has worked with many Brides and Grooms from planning the entire event to managing the on the day coordination. She has chosen to specialise in assisting with weddings in unique venues, settings and marquees. We are delighted to be able to offer as part of your Orchard Barn wedding trial a chance for you to sit down with Amy for a 30 mins trouble shooting session.  This will give you a chance to go through any aspects of the day that you are unsure of and gain some expert advice.

Julie Precious

Lymphoedema Management including Lymphatic Drainage
We are delighted to welcome Julie to Orchard Barn she will be offering much needed advice and treatment for all types of Lymphoedema, mild/chronic oedema and Lipodema. Julie is a registered nurse and has been practicing for 9 years, 6 years ago she began working as a specialist nurse within a Lymphoedema clinic.   In order to work at this level Julie obtained a degree level qualification from Staffordshire University in Management of Oedema in 2010 and she also successfully completed a course in The Leduc Method of medical lymphatic draining (MLD) and has kept her practice relevant with 2 yearly updates, the latest was in 2016 at which time she undertook training in Fluoroscopy Guided MLD (FG-MLD). During the same year she also gained a BSc Professional Health Studies (Tissue Viability). Julie has recognised the lack of Lymphoedema services available within the area, especially for those with primary and secondary to non-cancer causes although services are limited for all.  In Julie's spare time she enjoys spending time with her two horses, she finds this a great way of recharging her batteries.

Genevieve Cummings

Pilates Teacher
Genevieve leads our Beginners Pilates classes,  having shown a great interest in Pilates after graduating from Northumbria University with a degree in Sports Management in 2012, Genevieve decided to follow in the footsteps of both her mother and auntie who are both highly qualified and very well experienced Pilate’s teachers, to start a career of her own. After years of attending classes Genevieve started studying with BASI Pilates a highly accredited teacher training programme and completed her training in London with Meredith Rodgers (from Santa Barbara, California) who is a highly recognised and respected Pilates instructor. Genevieve will continue her studies and add to her qualifications so that she will be able to offer Pilates with equipment.

Carmen Bratton

Yoga and Yoga Therapy
We are delighted that Carmen has joined the team and will be teaching Yoga classes and offering Yoga Therapy at Orchard Barn. Carmen's classes have a very therapeutic approach and are suitable for most people at any level or even if you have never tried Yoga before. One to One or small group Yoga Therapy sessions are also available by appointment. Carmen has over 10 years experience and is a Chartered Level One registered teacher with Yoga Alliance UK. A registered Level One Relax and Renew® Restorative Yoga Teacher. A certified Yoga Therapist, having completed training with Yogacampus in London which is accredited by The British Council of Yoga Therapy. A registered therapist with the Complementary and Natural Healthcare Council (CNHC)

Richard Tucker

Hatha Flow
Richard joins us to teach Yoga classes here at Orchard Barn. He has gained his David Sye Yogabeats Foundation as well as a Yoga Diploma from the Centre of Excellence and a BSY Hatha Yoga Practitioner Level 4.   He is currently studying Ashtanga Rocket Yoga.  He loves everything Yoga related and has set up a community Facebook page Namaste Yoga Community to connect all the Yogi's in the area.    

Helen Jacques

Pregnancy Yoga Teacher
Helen qualified as an Adult Nurse in 1999 and worked in gynaecology for 3 years before qualifying as a midwife in 2003.  Helen realised how beneficial yoga would be during pregnancy having discovered yoga herself so trained with birthlight in 2017. Pregnancy Yoga is linked to positive outcomes in pregnancy and can benefit both mind and body as women adapt to pregnancy changes.   It can benefit all pregnant woman and we are able to accept woman on the class from 15 weeks. Pregnancy Yoga takes place at Orchard Barn on a Wednesday evening at 5.30pm. Helen's spare time is spent with her children, husband and dog, she enjoys Yoga and reading along with meeting up with friends.

Becky Cartledge

Personal Trainer, Movement and Pilates
Becky (also known as Boo), has been working in the sport, health and fitness industry for 20 years. After gaining a BA hons in Sport Studies she went on to become a Personal Trainer and was one of the first students to train with Michael King at the Pilates Institute in London. She is currently training with Burrell Education, a revolutionary women’s wellness, fitness and therapy education. Becky is now teaching movement rooted in body awareness and positivity. She is at Orchard Barn on Tuesdays teaching a class at 9.30am which incorporates pelvic floor and core work, Pilates, stretch and relaxation encouraging awareness and connection with your body. Becky is also available for 1-1's on Tuesdays also.

Kathy Cummings

Pilates and Walking with movement classes
Kathy has been teaching Pilates since 2001 and has her own studio in Holten le Clay we are delighted that Kathy is able to teach our Monday morning Pilates class here at Orchard Barn. She trained with Body Control Pilates in London which has an excellent reputation for safe and effective teaching and attends regular training. She works closely with other health professionals. She is a member of the Body Control Pilates Association has her REP level 3 & 4 which means she is a specialist instructor in the management of low back pain and a certified Back4Good Practitioner. Kathy is taking further studies and will be hosting walking, stretch and movement sessions in the future here at Orchard Barn.
