Moogoo Irritable skin balm with Marshmallow
Moogoo Irritable skin balm with Marshmallow:We set out to boost up our original ISB by making it thicker using raw Coconut Oil and adding a concentrated Marshamallow Root Extract and Elderberry Extract. We loved it but some people wanted us to keep the original as it suited them better. Rather than upset too many people, we now have 2 types. Things rarely turn out the way we expect them to at MooGoo.
Which version to choose? Most new customers try this version but feel free to check through the ingredients. All the reasons why we choose each ingredient is listed there.
This balm can be followed by the MSM Soothing Cream moisturiser which is designed to keep easily irritated skin moist and supple.
Directions: Apply cream topically as required to keep skin moist and healthy. For eczema prone skin and babies, patch test all natural products first just as you would when introducing new natural foods.
|Marshamallow Root Extract. (Althaea officinalis)||No we aren’t putting fluffy treats into our new Eczema Balm. Marshmallow is an African plant that has been used for 2000 years for various uses. Marshmallow extract contains flavanoids for soothing the skin.|
|Elderberry Extract (Sambucus nigra extract)||The tannins and viburnic acid in elderberries provide its soothing properties.|
|Raw Coconut Oil||Raw Coconut Oil is definitely not something we discovered and naturpaths have been suggesting it for skin for a long time. On its own a bit greasy and uncomfortable. In a cream it is perfect. It is the Medium Chain Fatty Acids that give Raw Coconut Oil its soothing properties.|
|Centella Asiatica Extract||Centella Asiatica is an essential part of our original cream and we have kept in our or newer version.|
|Aloe Vera Juice Concentrate||If you haven’t heard of the benefits of Aloe Vera on skin soothing than you must be new to all of this. Aloe is a beautiful plant that brings relief to sensitive skin. In order to get all the benefits of Aloe when there is only so much room in our cream, we have use a very concentrated form of the juice. (100:1)|
|Bisabolol (German Chamomile Essential Oil)||We love German Chamomile for soothing skin The problem we have is that we have more extracts in our new cream, so there is less room. We could just add a token amount, but we feel our cream really needs a lot to be most effective. To solve this problem we are using Bisabolol which is the concentrated form of German Chamomile. A bit more expensive, but worth it.|
|Sweet Almond Oil||Sweet Almond Oil is one of the best oils to calm skin due to its fatty acid profile. Incidentally, people and children with nut allergies are usually allergic to the protein in some nuts, not the oils. So Sweet Almond Oil should be fine for people with allergies. However we do also have the Nut Oil Free Soothing Cream. (All natural products should be patch tested for allergies of course).|
|Olive Oil||Another very moisturising oil. It would be “too much” by itself, but as part of an emulsion it gives a boost to its moisturusing abaility.|
|Olive Squalane||One of our favourite moisturising oils. Since Olive squalene’s composition is very similar to human sebum, it can penetrate our skin very quickly to help our skin to fight dryness|
|Water and Emulsifying Wax||If we used only oils and actives, the cream would feel hot on the skin as the oils coat the skin and it becomes an occlusive. By making this cream with water, the cream penetrates the skin better, is more moisturising, and also feels more soothing and cooling.|
|Natural Vitamin E (D-Alpha-Tocopherol)||We use natural Vitamin E in our cream. This helps to hydrate the skin as well as keeping the cream from going rancid.|
|Piroctone Olamine||It is very important creams for broken skin are properly preserved. Piroctone Olamine has an anti-yeast and anti-bacterial property for the cream so we use this ingredient to keep the cream stable so as not to infect broken skin.|
|Allantoin||Allantoin is a skin conditioner that has been purified from comfrey. Allantoin is thought to help maintain healthy skin by encouraging the removal of dead skin cells. it|
|Hops Extract (Humulus Lupulus Extract)||As you can see from the rest of our ingredients, we try and use edible ingredients whereever we can. This is one of our innovations. (Note: Hops are not alcoholic. They are used to make beer, but they are not fermented in our creams but the fresh extract).|
